Cabinet storage

After asking 2 police staff and getting 2 different answers does any one have experience of a visit from the police to check that weapon and ammo are stored correctly. ...?..??

My proposal was to use an old oak chest its 5mm thick add a new hasp and padlock and keep the ammo in a steel locking cash box seperatley away from the gun.

Its way more substantial than the cabinets that can be bought and opened with a screwdriver blade and not obvious as to whats inside as its a peice of furniture unlike these cabinets which Stevie Wonder could recognise.

I got two differing opinions ranging from NO to thats overkill and a much better solution I will add i showed them photo and drawing of my proposal which i will add to this post later.

And yes i did read the document i could find online but its very wooley and open to interpretation in different ways maybe i will never get a visit but im an easy target as foriegner even with my Serbian Id and passport.

Thanks for reading
Regards
Paul

Dear Paul,

Our Law is not explicit on whether you should have a cabinet for D and C category weapons.

I personally haven't been visited by police in this regard, but nonetheless, for overall safety, I'm keeping my weapons locked.

Law also does not specify how safety cabinet should look or what safety standard it should be under.

So, if you have a lock on this crate, that should be fine.

Its very woolly like building permits lol
I just don, t want to be an easy target

Like @aleksandarantonic said-no explicit rule about keeping air riffles "C" category. So, keep it in a locker or in a closet or whatever...we disscus about that many times...if you think you'll be a target for authorities (why would you ???) then lock it, if you want to shoot people from the balcony, then you will be target 😂...enough of ridicilous jokes....no problem with air riffles at all...just keep you targets on paper and gongs and you should be fine...
p.s. frendly advice-don't go around asking too many questions. Seeker becomes finder...if you dig what I'm sayin'

Thank you i will get a cabinet anyway i think because it will not be long until the woke mob decide its a good idea especially if there,s 10 % in it for them 😉

Brother Paul,
the beauty of the Serbian language and letters, they tell me to answer you like that, and you will already find a way to translate. The Serbian police (unfortunately not the Serbian police) have much better things to do than to chase foreigners with air rifles around Serbia. Your colleagues told you nicely that you can be calm, you are certainly not a thorn in their side as a foreigner (maybe the western media scared you a little more). And it seems to me that foreigners in this country of ours are more protected than white bears, because they are certainly more so than us Serbs.
